Our Story

The Soul of Apt 34: Where Every Mug Has a Story.

CLAY & MUG doesn't live in a glass skyscraper or a sprawling warehouse. It lives right here, at 301 Silver Ave, Apt 34, in Donna, Texas. To the world, it might just be a small apartment. But to me, this space is where a dream is being built, one shelf at a time. This store is the physical manifestation of my passion for the simple, tactile beauty of earth and fire. It’s not just a business; it’s a labor of love that started from a single idea: that the objects we hold every day should mean something.

Hand-Picked, Heartfelt

Every piece in our collection has passed through this apartment, from the rugged, porous terracotta to the translucent strength of our porcelain. I inspect every rim, every handle, and every glaze. I’ve spent countless hours arranging small decorative accents and curated shelves to ensure that what you see isn’t just a product but a piece of a lifestyle that values quality over quantity.

Honest Materials, Real Purpose

We believe in the "Material Truth." We don't use exaggerated claims because the clay speaks for itself.

  • Our ceramic & stoneware are chosen for their grounding weight.
  • Our glass is selected for its clarity and heat resistance.
  • Our terracotta is kept raw and rustic, reflecting the honest, sun-drenched spirit of South Texas.

A Small Store with a Big Promise

Being a small, independent shop means I can’t afford to be careless. At CLAY & MUG, you aren't a "transaction number" in a database. You are someone supporting a Texas dream. When I pack your order on my kitchen table, I’m not just sending you a mug; I’m sending a piece of the dedication and quiet effort that happens within these four walls.

Our Humble Horizon

My dream for CLAY & MUG is simple: I would rather not be the biggest store in America. I want to make your favorite mug, the one you reach for every morning because it feels right, looks beautiful, and you know where it came from.

Thank you for being part of the story of Apt 34.

With gratitude,

The Founder of CLAY & MUG
