At CLAY & MUG, we know that your morning coffee or evening tea starts with the vessel you hold. Because our products are made of honest, fragile materials like ceramic, porcelain, and glass, we treat every package as if it were a gift to a dear friend. Every box is packed with care right at our kitchen table in Apt 34, Donna, Texas.
1. Order Processing Time
Before your mug begins its journey, it goes through a "Careful Hand" phase. Unlike big warehouses, we personally inspect every rim and handle.
- Our Processing Schedule: We are at our packing table from Monday to Friday (10:00 AM - 8:00 PM) and Saturday (10:00 AM - 4:00 PM) CST.
- Handling Time: All orders are typically processed within 1 to 3 business days.
- Note: Orders placed after our closing hours on Saturday or during Sunday/public holidays will be processed starting the following Monday. We take this time to ensure your stoneware is swaddled in enough protection to survive the road.
2. Shipping Options & Rates (Domestic U.S. Only)
We offer two simple ways to get your order delivered across the United States. We believe in transparent pricing with no hidden handling fees, just the cost of safe delivery.
Standard Shipping (The "Slow & Steady" Choice)
- Cost: $6.95 for all orders under $75.
- Free Shipping: We are happy to offer Free Standard Shipping on all orders over $75.
- Estimated Delivery: Typically 3 to 7 business days once processed. This is the perfect choice if you don’t mind waiting a few extra days for your new favorite mug.
Expedited Shipping (The "I Need My Coffee Now" Choice)
- Cost: $14.95 Flat Rate for all orders.
- Estimated Delivery: 1 to 3 business days once processed.
- Why choose this? If you are buying a last-minute gift or simply can't wait to hold that new porcelain piece, this puts your package on the fast track with UPS or USPS Priority Mail.

3. The "Texas-Tough" Packing Standard
Mugs are heavy yet breakable, a challenging combination. To keep shipping costs fair and reduce our environmental footprint, we often reuse clean, sturdy packing materials. The box might not be the fanciest on the outside, but inside, your mug is wrapped in a "security cloud" of padding.
4. Tracking Your Treasure
As soon as your package leaves Donna, Texas, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. You can follow its journey from our small apartment to your front porch in real time.
5. If the "Unthinkable" Happens
We do our best, but sometimes the road is bumpy.
- Broken on Arrival: If your mug arrives shattered, please take a photo of the item and the box and email it to customer@clayandmug.com within 48 hours. We will skip the small talk and send a replacement or issue a refund immediately.
- Lost Packages: If your tracking says "Delivered" but you can’t find your box, please wait 24 hours (carriers sometimes scan early!), then reach out to us.
6. Our Future Horizon
Currently, we only ship within the United States. As we grow from Apt 34 into a larger studio, we hope to share our love for clay with the world. Thank you for supporting a small business with a big heart.
Returns & Breakage
At CLAY & MUG, we spend a lot of time in Apt 34 wrapping your orders in layers of protection. We know that whether it’s a dense stoneware mug or a delicate porcelain piece, it has a long journey from our home in Donna, Texas, to yours. However, we also know that sometimes, despite our best bubble-wrap efforts, the road can be a bit bumpy.
1. The "Arrived Broken" Guarantee
If your mug arrives in pieces, don't lose hope! Since our products are made of natural earth and glass, they can be fragile.
- What to do: Take a photo of the broken item and the packaging within 48 hours of delivery.
- Our fix: Email the photo to customer@clayandmug.com. We will skip the small talk and send you a replacement immediately at no extra cost or issue a full refund if the item is out of stock. We don’t ask you to mail back broken glass safety first!
2. 30-Day return (If you change your mind)
We want you to love what you hold. If you receive your mug and realize the terracotta texture isn't for you, or the glass is a different size than you imagined, you have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return.
- Condition: The item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition as received.
- The Process: Contact us at customer@clayandmug.com for the return shipping address.
- Return Shipping: As a small, independent shop operating out of our living room, we cannot cover the cost of return shipping for "change of mind" returns at this time. We appreciate your understanding in helping our small business grow.
3. Non-Returnable Items
- Items that show signs of use (coffee stains, we’re looking at you!).
- Items damaged after they have been in your care for more than 48 hours.
- Gift cards.
4. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your returned item in Apt 34, we will send you an email to notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 5-7 business days.
5. Why We Are Fair (But Firm)
Our dream is to eventually have a studio where we can handle every return with a smile and a free gift. But for now, every return affects our small Texas dream. We promise to be honest and human in every interaction, and we simply ask for the same honesty from you.
